Third ICOM survey – Museums and Covid-19

Last year, ICOM launched the first survey on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on museums and museum professionals, whose long-term consequences on the sector are still uncertain.

To gather further information on how the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak is impacting and will affect the museum sector in the short and long term, ICOM launched a third global survey on 15 April 2021. Most of the sections and questions refer to the previous surveys, allowing us to assess the evolution of the museum crisis brought about by the pandemic and its perception by museum professionals. Other questions look at the future of museums, and how they are reacting to the limitations imposed by the closure of physical sites and health restrictions.

The questionnaire is available in English, French and Spanish, and will remain open until 15 May 2021.
