La ratifica della Convenzione di Nicosia e le nuove disposizioni in materia di reati contro il patrimonio culturale
Ė entrata in vigore dal 1° aprile la Convenzione del Consiglio d’Europa sulle infrazioni relative ai beni culturali, firmata a Nicosia il 19 maggio 2017 da 12 Paesi e ratificata il 12 gennaio dal parlamento italiano. L’Italia ha già dato esecuzione agli impegni assunti e il 3 marzo la Camera ha approvato in via definitiva il ddl Franceschini-Orlando recante “Disposizioni in materia di reati contro il patrimonio culturale”.

Recommendation concerning the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, their Diversity and their Role in Society
The 2015 Recommendation concerning the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, their Diversity and their Role in Society was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO at its 38th session in 2015. This standard-setting instrument reflects the commitment of Member States to assisting museums in fulfilling their role in contemporary society, so that they are partners in sustainable development through the safeguarding and protection of heritage, the promotion of cultural diversity, the transmission of scientific knowledge, the development of educational policies and lifelong learning, and fostering the creative economy and sustainable tourism. The 2015 Recommendation also highlights the importance of integrating these global guidelines for the protection and promotion of museums and collections in legislations and national policies.

The elaboration of the Recommendation originated from the desire to supplement and extend the application of standards and principles laid down in existing international instruments referring to the place of museums, and to their related roles and responsibilities.
On the basis of comments received from Member States, UNESCO, in close cooperation with the International Council of Museums, prepared a final report containing the draft Recommendation which was transmitted to Member States by the Director-General on 3 April 2015.
Museum Studies Training Programme

The UNESCO/ICOM Museum Studies Training Programme, aiming at improving and enhancing the knowledge and competencies of museum personnel in developing countries, was prepared jointly by UNESCO and ICOM, the International Council of Museums.
It exists in downloadable English, French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian and Chinese language versions.
Recommendation concerning the Most Effective Means of Rendering Museums Accessible to Everyone

The General Conference recommends that Member States should bring this Recommendation to the knowledge of the authorities and bodies concerned with museums, and of the museums themselves.
The General Conference recommends that Member States should report to it, on dates and in a manner to be determined by it, on the action they have taken to give effect to this Recommendation.
