ICOM participates at the International Conference on Museum, Technology and the Future of Cultural Heritage in Naples

The ICOM Executive Board of is participating in the International Conference on Museum, Technology and the Future of Cultural Heritage hosted by Pegaso University.

For the first time, the EB members are gathering and providing their contributions in a meeting outside of Paris or the General Conference headquarters, marking a significant departure from tradition.

Set for October 2, 2023, at Naples’ Città della Scienza, the event will bring together experts from the territory and local and national institutions.

This move signifies the EB’s commitment to sharing its expertise in an international event aligned with the themes of the 2022-2028 strategic plan, showcasing a forward-looking approach to ICOM governance and an eagerness to explore innovative ways of collaboration and partnership-building within the global museum community.

The conference aligns with Digital Humanities research, focusing on digital heritage, literature, and cultural practices. It recognizes the importance of preserving the past to inform future technological developments and highlights cultural heritage’s role in shaping contemporary practices.
