CIPEG online programme: Museum Matters II – 2023 | 15 April

“MUSEUM MATTERS II 2023”, Saturday, 15 April, 1pm to 4pm (Paris time)

In 2022 CIPEG organised its first panel discussion of the MUSEUM MATTERS series, which focused on Egyptian and Sudanese collections in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This year, the topic of a second panel discussion will be (How) do we display ancient Egyptian mummified remains in our museums?, starting from the principles of the ICOM Code of Ethics.

We also take this opportunity to point out that the CIPEG Journal: Ancient Egyptian & Sudanese Collections and Museums – a peer-reviewed, online journal – is now accepting contributions for Volume 7 (2023). This volume will focus on “The Power of Museums,” the theme of the 2022 CIPEG Annual Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic (held as part of the 26th ICOM General Conference 20–28 August 2022). The deadline for any contribution relating to the 2022 Annual Meeting is 1 May 2023. The CIPEG Journal also welcomes scholarly articles about the study, preservation, and presentation of Egyptian and Sudanese collections worldwide. Submissions not associated with the Annual Meeting are accepted on a rolling schedule.
